Those who don't get notification within this period must consider that they didn't win the Visa Lottery. And can prepare them to apply for the next coming lottery.

Being selected as a winner in the diversity visa lottery does not guarantee that you will be issued with a visa, even if you are qualified. There are many more things to be verified from you and you have to face an interview before they issue you the immigrant visa.

KCC will select winners greater than the number of immigrant visas available. For example they have 50,000 visas and they may select 100,000. This is because that all the selected winners may not be qualified for the visa or will not able to complete the processing. And mostly they select winners for further interview from the first received DSS application forms.

Once all the 50,000 visas have been issued, the diversity visa program for the year will end; normally visas for the DV Lottery 2009 will not be issued after September 30, 2008

Latest information:
The dv lottery 2009 results are being sent to the winners who are selected by the computer random draw. Those notifications are sent to the selected winners with further instruction and related visa fee through normal postal mail. They are coming in batches and will continue till the month of July 2008. The addresses which were entered in the last year entry form will be used as the mailing address.

Take note that E-Mails, Fax or Telephone will not be used to inform the winners. If you get any double check them and if you find them as fake inform to the relevant authorities with out delay.

Finally winning the lottery doesn’t guarantee you a visa; it will allow you to apply for a visa where you will process it as a normal visa application.
If you are a winner and not eligible for the visa, don't proceed further.

DV Lottery 2009 Results are being announced by the the Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg,
Kentucky. There are 50,000 visas available for this program under the Diversity Visa 2009 program.
In the year more than 9,100,000 people applied through the state department web site. The computer selected nearly 99,600 winners and they were notified as winners and they can apply for an immigrant visa. Those 50,000 winners who meet the legibility will be issued with visas from October 2008 to 30th September 2009.
Winners who are in the USA legally may contact the USICS to change their status; it must be done within this period.
