Bhamas eligible for DV Lottery 2009.

According to the October 22, 2007, press release of The US Embassy in Bahamas,

Persons born in the Bahamas are eligible to enter this year's Diversity visa Lottery for the DV 2009. Eligibility to apply for this program is determined by a person's place of birth not by citizenship or residence. Persons born in The Bahamas are eligible to enter the visa lottery regardless of where they are living.
For the DV 2008 there are 17 Bahamians were selected for the Visas.
Further more they announced that those intend to apply must have education or work experience according to the instructions. That is If selected, the principal entrant must also provide proof of a high school education or its equivalent, or show two years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience within the past five years.
